we stopped at goatfeathers on our way out of town from the beach and i wish we had not wasted our last vacation meal here. the food was fine... fresh oysters on the half shell & grilled shrimp were my favorite items we tasted. the problem was those were some of the only things on the menu that were not fried. if you are looking for a plate full of fried seafood, fries & hush puppies then this is your place. the atmosphere is outdated and touristy. in comparison to other places on 30A this seems to fall at the bottom of the list.

The service was terrible with forgotten dishes galore. The waitress brought us the check before offering dessert (which we intended to order). The checks were wrong. The food was satisfactory at best. I will make it a point to never return to Goatfeathers. It's a shame it was so awful because it has a great beachside location. Oh well.

I've been going to Goatfeathers for 20 years, It used to to be one of our favorite places to go as kids. The game room downstairs used to be awesome, but now it's kinda lackluster and of course as a 25 year old I'm not much into playing those games anyway anymore. Goatfeathers restaurant has declined in the past twenty years, yes they have decent fried foods, just like almost everywhere else along the Emerald Coast, but there's something missing that used to be there. I'm not sure I can point it out but it's just not there anymore, it just feels like a 5 on scale of 10. It's location and potential definitely have a 4-5 star potential but it just hasn't lived up to what it once was or could be.

This restaurant is a catastrophe. please do not go there and waste vocation time!! Awful service. Waited 5min to be told I have to wait for a different hostess to take out food. Waited 15more minutes. Then asked how long is the wait for the hostess? They said about 10more minutes. So, wait time just to order food to go about 30min, in empty stinky restaurant. Horrible look, and stinky. Do not touch this place with a 10ft pole!

Probably a tough night to evaluate the wait staff. Unfortunate for the restaurant the number of staff was not sufficient to handle the holiday weekend crowd. Once we got seated service was adequate, though the waiter seemed to be flustered. Turns out he was a host & never waited tables before. He did his best to be attentive. Food I would say was better than I anticipated given the staffing issues. Broiled scallops were tender & fresh. No complaints from others in the party who had amberjack, shrimp and a steak. Waiter offered up complimentary desserts - key lime pie, chocolate brownie delight and coffee. Establishment has a reputation for good seafood and we eventually did receive what they commit to deliver.

Waitstaff was good but two lobster dinners were not cooked correctly. Had to send food back for cooking. Will not return.

hate to say it, because I really want it to be good, but it's not great. Food is OK, particularly if you have a family (their fry is nicely done and tasty) but the smell when you walk in is enough to make you turn around and walk out. restrooms and fish market on the first floor make for a nasty combination.
(2)Ronnie C.
Overpriced and poor service. Use to be much better than it is now. No longer recommending to my friends
(1)Zach S.
We haven't eaten yet but I'm more or less disappointed with the service and decor. The menu looks overpriced for the decor and service. We went here based on its reputation from decades ago and obviously a lot has changed..... update: We ate. It was, just as other reviewers have said, overpriced and just passable. I would have expected more gourmet presentation and ingredients for the price, but the fish was well cooked, which should only be expected from a seafood restaurant anyway.

Previous review, I forgot to say my wife is handicapped and there elevator did not work and rest. Is on second floor
(2)Zaphod B.
Just moved to the neighborhood and have been here about seven times now. Have yet to have a disappointing meal, and all my guests have been completely satisfied. The portions are large, the food has always been excellent, and the staff has always been pleasant, and even tolerant when I brought some of my more rowdy friends in. :D There's an elevator to take you to the second floor if you have troubles with stairs. The dining room looks out over a parking lot, but someone had a genius idea to feed water onto the large glass windows, so it always looks as if it's raining outside. This is one of the best bangs for your buck in the area. While there are one or two places that are less expensive, the amount and quality of the food and service are worth the extra buck or two.

The wait for the table was to be expected but the wait for our food was about an hour which was outrageous! Our food was cold but we were so hungry, we didn't send it back. The scallops were small and not filling... And cold. The grouper was over cooked... And cold. The service was a joke. Our server definitely was new and apparently has never even eaten at a restaurant. My sister ordered hush puppies. Since her meal came with two hush puppies already, the server didn't seem to notice he completely forgot to give her her side order. When I complained to the manager about the wait for our food, he just said he'd check to see what was going on with the kitchen and ran off. I wouldn't go back ever again!!
(1)Leena H.
One star just for the waitress she is the only thing good in this restaurant! The food is not good at all we were four people and all of us didn't eat the food. The place as you will see if you go it's so dirty and I mean it! I think they need to flip the whole restaurant and bring chef Robert Irvine to do it for them
(1)Jamie C.
Great service once you get a spot. We waited 1.5 hours. Fried green tomatoes were very good and boiled shrimp were great appetizers. The bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops were just okay, the salad was covered in olive oil with minimal flavor, the blackened catfish and scallops were okay. I don't think I'll return here.
(3)Brian A.
Great service and awesome food. The place was a bit outdated; the carpet reminded me of a bowling alley. Soft shell crab, Cajun potatoes, and Greek salad made a great meal. Beers were cold and we had a great time. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
(4)Jacky V.
Stopped here before heading to Grayton Beach and I am so glad I did! Their customer service was amazing and the food was to die for.
(4)Liz R.
We had great service (thanks OJ!) and delicious food. Our 10yr old said his fish was best meal ever. Great job! Fried green tomatoes appetizer was scrumptious.
(5)Toni S.
Long wait for a table of 8 as to be expected. Don't recall the waiter's name but he was from Southern Virginia so we called him Virginia. Great waiter. Anticipated our every need The food quantity was generous. The food tasty and the price very reasonable. Between 4 -6 is the value menu. Great deals. The Greek salad was great for the non-formal restaurant this is. Everyone of our table of 8 was very satisfied and full. Will go back.
(5)Ruby S.
The service was good. The food was not so good. We had fried shrimp and the batter was not fried hard enough. My friend who is 86 yrs old needed to use the elevator and we couldn't get it open.
(1)Allan S.
Horrible, fried pickles full of grease, hush puppies burnt ( first time I've seen that). It took the hostess two trips to our table before we got seated. One to find our table then she took our silverware and menu then came back for us. Won't be back.
(1)Quentin R.
I know there are mixed reviews for this restaurant, but we love it. We have gone for lunch and dinner and prefer the lunch the best. Their shrimp poboy is very good and the bread it is served on is very light and flakey. My wife loves the Goatfeathers salad, which is a side you can chose from and it is a meal in and of itself. The fried pickles are very good as well. Last time we went we had the best waiter you could ask for...you rock Daniel. Give it a try and I don't think you will be disappointed.
(5)Matt H.
Really fresh fish. I had the triggerfish which can be hard to come by. The Greek salad was great. An awesome value. The grab cakes were great. Mark our waiter did a great job. It is obvious that this place treats their staff right. Kids portions were large and a came with a frisbee. Overall our group of 9 left happy, and we would definitely return.
(4)Hal R.
We picked up six pounds of shrimp. We didn't eat in, but we did the pick up thing. They steamed them for us. The shrimp were a great size. They were probably some of the best I've had, but I'm not a big seafood guy so take that with a grain of salt. The service was eh, but I think those poor guys had been working all day. The experience of a local seafood market style thing was pretty cool. I would go back if I am ever craving seafood.
(4)Bj B.
This place was great. The food was good the service was great. Just everything was perfect. The price was fair and worth every penny.
(5)Carrie R.
The seafood here is okay. The raw oysters tasted fine, but they were shucked terribly, so much of the meat was lost. However, the steaks here are terrible. The prime rib is too fatty. There may be three bites of actual meat on the prime rib. The other steaks are all cooked well done, regardless of how you actually ask for them to be cooked. The steaks are also very thin, so in essence you get beef jerky. I would not go here again.
(2)Chadwick H.
This was the first stop on our family vacation to the area. We went around closing because we had arrived late and didn't want to wait long. There was obviously no wait which was awesome but we had seen how long it was in the prime dinner hours. The staff was courteous even though we walked in 30 minutes before they closed. I ordered the fish of the day which was Mahi. I got a Greek salad with with Cajun potatoes and hush puppies as my side. The salad wasn't bad but had a bit much feta cheese on it. The fish was actually grilled to perfection and had a perfect amount of taste. Overall I would recommend the restaurant. Luckily we were able to walk from our beach house. It doesn't come off as the nicest restaurant but the food was a much better than average. Wouldn't be my first selection but still a solid choice and recommend it to anyone in the area. Also pretty awesome drink specials!
(4)Randall G.
Disappointed overall. Food was ok. Restaurant needs updating. Least favorite food experience of our week in Seaside.
(1)Brandon C.
It was ok. Food was really good, but the service was TERRIBLE. We arrived about 1pm on Thursday. It took FOREVER to get the food. Waiter apologized over and over but nothing changed. They weren't even busy! We had 4 adults and 2 small kids. When our bill arrived, they forced an 18% tip due to our "large" party. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with an 18% tip but the level of service was horrible. And when does a party of 4 adults an 2 small kids get counted as "large"???
(2)James R.
We have been going to Goatfeathers since 1990. Absolutely the Best po boys (shrimp, oyster, soft shell crab when in season) in Florida. Their trademark Goatfeathers dish has been alternated and can not be recommended. Small scallop in a small shrimp wrapped in little bacon with no breading. Stick with the po boy . Which has nothing to do with pour boys.
(4)Brad R.
This place was "ok", but not great. I took my wife and 4 kids (one kid is a baby so he didn't eat) here for dinner while staying at Gulf Place for the week. The atmosphere was a bit dated with old carpet and decor. I ordered the stuffed grouper (stuffed with breaded crab meat) and it was a little bland. The margarita was good and so were the hush puppies, but my wife and kids ordered a basic pasta dish with chicken. It was all very so-so. My bill was $120 and they automatically included an 18% tip. I almost didn't catch that and nearly added another 20%. The service was good, but for the money I think there are other places I would try before going back here.
(3)Andy L.
It's the Florida pan-handle... What do you expect? Either it's a) hippity-hop-white-trash-Jersey-shore douches dancing or it's b) an average seafood restaurant with slightly above average food/decor? Panama City has ruined most of what people think about Florida's pan-handle, but Goatfeathers... well... it isn't much better. The food is average at best for the money, but it was recommended by a State Park official, so I can't be too pissed. If you are in the market for seafood, spend your money elsewhere unless you REALLY want an average experience for above-average prices.
(3)Charity T.
The food, service, and ambiance are terrible. I wish we had waited the two hours for a table at Stinky's. :-(
(1)T. M.
Had oysters on the half shell and they were fresh but on the small side. I agree with others that the place could use a refresher. Decor is old and the place is old. Only if the food is superb can you let a place kinda deteriorate. The food is not superb, good but not great. We didn't have a wait and our waiter was good enough. That's really all I can say. I have the pecan crusted grouper which was definitely tasty but the presentation seemed a bit sloppy. I like coming here though I guess because I know its good enough and I don't have to risk going to a crappy place.
(3)Erin H.
I was pleasantly surprised by my recent trip to Goatfeathers. It has been around forever, and my family used to avoid it because it is a little pricey for standard seafood offerings. However, when we saw a $13.99 early bird special, we knew that we had to check it out. I had the grilled shrimp, which comes with a potato and a salad. The Greek salad starter was surprisingly good! And the shrimp were sweet and perfectly cooked. This was my first seafood at the beach, and I was not disappointed. The fried shrimp were also tasty; make sure to ask for some of their remoulade. Our server, Paul, was amazing. He was very friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed. He was even able to keep up with my brother's seemingly unquenchable desire for sweet tea. The menu certainly isn't special, and the decor isn't fancy. But Goatfeathers is a solid choice for simple seafood, and you can avoid high prices by going early.
(3)Lyle F.
Hidden gem! Absolutely terrific Saturday lunch that was extremely affordable and much better than the meal we had day prior for more than double the price. Salad was perfectly fresh and crispy. Service very nice. This is a real find!
(5)Jessica G.
Okay, so you all know that my favorite food is crab-cake. Well.....let me tell you..... if you are looking for the best crab cake near Destin look no further. OMG! These were the best ever. They had a special going on the day my mom and I went, 2 crab cakes for $10. It was a crazy good deal. My son loved the "fish sticks". This was my first time dining here and I was impressed. I can't wait to go back and get some more!
(5)Ben H.
Oy vey. Why have I always heard this place is good? It is not. The sweet tea was poor. The Cajun potatoes were gross. The mac & cheese was horrible. The hushpuppies were filled with completely raw dough that oozed out when breaking them apart. The fish I had was not terrible, but it wasn't particularly good either. It was a little tough and overcooked. The blue crab claws were decent though, but definitely not close to the best I've had. Service was OK but not great. And it was nearly complete apathy and/or incompetence in the kitchen though... 1.5

A solid dinning experience. We arrived around 1:00pm on Sunday (Labor Day weekend). The hostess greeted us quickly and advised there would be a 10-15 min wait. I assume this was due to staffing level as at least half the tables were open. Upon being seated our waiter quickly took our drink orders and filled them soon after. Both our server and the other server in our area seemed frantic but they both we're clearing doing their upmost to take care of their guests. We ordered the grilled shrimp dinner and the lemon pepper white fish dinner. Each came with what proved to be a delightful Greek salad. Our orders arrived after just longer than what I would have expected. Both dishes were well seasoned and properly cooked. My steamed new potatoes were not the most visually appealing side but they tasted good. All in all I say it was a good experience. The availability of several specials and a lunch menu gave lots of choices. Worth trying.
(3)Melanie T.
The best place for fresh seafood for cooking, grilling, etc. Their restaurant has a wonderful menu! My only complaint is that the atmosphere is lacking. It's lit up like Walmart, and the decor looks like the Ropers' from 3's Company designed everything. I usually just place a take out order.
(3)Kendra C.
Took our family here for lunch. It was great!!! Great food, prices, atmosphere, and service!
(5)James E.
I had the fried shrimp platter Nd baked potato...my best meL of the week. Service by Israel wS very good!
(4)Jim S.
Family on vacation, stopped for lunch. Food was below average and worse service. My mahi was over cooked and dry. Whole shrimp PoBoy had five shrimp on it and had to wait for more shrimp to be added. Two people had gumbo, one got rice, one did not. Fries were cold for another person. We waited over ten minutes whole done with meal and still no server to give us the check. Had to get check from cashier. An 18% gratuity had been added on seven people. Thought that was extremely presumptuous on such poor service
(2)Nathan G.
good seafood for a decent price...crab was so-so, but the scallops and shrimp were very good. Fried oysters were pretty good also. Remember to get their early...it gets crowded pretty quick during the tourist season.
(4)Joe B.
Disappointing. Outdated decor needs a total overhaul. One in our group thought the walk up the stairs from the entrance reminded her of a strip club...another thought it was like a bowling alley. Along with the lack of ambience, the food and especially the service continued to disappoint. Avoid.
(1)Traci L.
The food was good but as I was taking my daughter to the bathroom I fell on a step and broke my foot. It was like the 2 hostesses there didnt even care. I was crying and we left shortly after and i called the next day and it was like they didnt even care. I will go back just hopefully they have more compassion for their customers. If you have issues with steps, they have steep ones.
(1)Emily R.
Heard good things about the seafood market so decided to eat here as well. First thing was noticed when we walked in was a terrible smell-at first we thought it was from the market, but later realized it was from the bathrooms. Eww. Walked upstairs to be seated & hostess was sipping her drink, barely acknowledging us. Same hostess couldn't be bothered to say "thank you for coming by" or even look up when we left. Mind you, it wasn't busy. Ordered two lunch servings & two kids meals. Took almost half hour to get our food, and we had easy orders. Kids meal portions were huge, but drinks were not included, which is weird. And pricey. I had the shrimp poboy, which was on special. I specifically asked what came on the sandwich (l,t,p,o) & asked to hold the tomato & onion. Needless to say it was full of tomato and also had cole slaw on it, which was a weird taste and ruined the sandwich. I ended up just picking off the shrimp, which were good when not covered in cole slaw dressing. Lunch for 4 was almost $50. We're fairly local, and I know of several other places where we could have had an outstanding lunch for less than $50. Skip the restaurant, but fish market had a really good selection for fair prices.

I' ve been wanting to eat here for the past 15 years. It's been a mainstay when many other local eateries have come and gone. The seafood is fresh; however, the way it is cooked is not the most creative. It's not the most fabulous food I've had, but it wasn't horrible either. If you like fried seafood, then this is your kind of place. The batter was tasty. And FYI, if the menu describes something as "crispy" that means it's deep-fried. I missed this subtlety when I ordered the fish tacos. Still, I enjoyed it. My husband had the seafood gumbo, which I thought needed salt. However, it was hearty and came with about 3 jumbo shrimp. The prices are also decent (for lunch), which is a nice change from other restaurants in the area. Their kids menu has quite a bit to offer, and the meals are served on a frisbee, which was neat. We came just before noon on a Saturday, which is definately a good time to go- absolutely no wait. However, when we left there was quite a line.
(4)Pat A.
Sad to say, it's gone downhill over the years. Making the trip from Destin this year to Goatfeathers was definitely not worth the gas. The special fish they have for lunch is Swai. Don't google it, you won't eat it!
(2)Mitchell L.
Pan broiled grouper was excellent, as was the fried soft shell crab. Service was impeccable.
(4)Mark S.
A top notch restaurant that I will recommended to all my guests staying at my beach rentals. Jordan Colson was my waiter and he provided excellent service. The prices are affordable for the quality of food served. From here on out any trip down to Hwy 30A will include heading over to Goatfeathers.
(5)Christy D.
I agree that Goatfeathers is decent food and decently priced. I came here with a group of 6 on a Saturday evening and we were seated fairly fast. For appetizers, we had the fried pickles and crab and artichoke dip. They brought us unlimited "toasties," which were little pieces of toast for the dip. Both appetizers were really good. I had one of the specials ($21.95)...a lobster tail "stuffed" with a crab cake with the veggie of the day (green beans sauteed with garlic and red bell pepper) and six grilled shrimp. I liked the green beans a lot, they were done right...not mushy, not crunchy. The shrimp were excellent! Grilled perfectly, and succulent with a squeeze of lemon. The lobster was pretty good...much better than my most recent lobster experience elsewhere. It was not so much "stuffed" with a crabcake, but basically, they presented the tail on top of a crabcake. I liked the crabcake...it wasn't fried, and there was lots of crab, and not much else. I was given an entire fried crabcake from another dinner companion's plate, and it was pretty good too. I did prefer the baked/sauteed/whatever crabcake, but that's just personal preference. They were out of softshell crab, which really bummed the others at our table. Overall, I think the consensus was that the food was pretty good, but no one's socks were blown off. It's in a pretty area of town, so it's almost worth it just for the drive to see all the cute beach houses and drool over them.
(3)Colin B.
Hello smell of fish from the market downstairs, nice to meet you. And hello 1980s decor, you're still awesome. First impressions out of the way, on to the dining experience. Nothing here is beyond amazing, just another seafood shack on the side of the road that draws all kinds of tourists. I wasn't starving so I had an appetizer of shrimp & grits for $10 or so. The grits were good -- loads of cheese and green onions -- the shrimp was different. The shrimp was small and looked like it had been cooked on the side instead of mixed in with the grits. I'm no Southern cooking expert, but I think that is supposed to go in with the grits. Everyone else had fried shrimp and said it was very meh. Either they didn't have the oil hot enough or it wasn't left in the fryer long enough because it was soft and tender. I didn't mind it, but they didn't dig it. Not the best place to grab seafood, I suppose, but good if you want to pay a little extra for a place that has a "market" downstairs.
(3)Maria C.
Don't bother, find another place to go. Wait staff is bad, food is bad, decor is bad and the view is non-existent. One more thing, the prices are high for bad food.
(1)Scott G.
Lots of downer reviews about decor, food and service - it's all about expectations. Decor - yes it is dated, but frankly it adds to the character. If smart decor is what you need, probably this is not the place for you. Service - if you go on certain nights at certain times you will have a long wait and service will be a challenge to keep up. Saturdays at 7 can mean an hour or more wait, Tuesdays at 6:30 you can walk straight in. The volume of people on 30A and surrounding mean that the crowds flock to certain places. If you have starving infants and young children, avoid or take along some games. Food - familiar food from this part of the gulf coast. Not as good as, say, the back porch in Destin, but a close second. Fresh seafood, grilled, blackened or fried usually done well. I always get the seafood platter to indulge me gulf cravings - shrimp, fish, crab cake, scallops and fries. Kids always get the popcorn shrimp - served on a frisbee that they get to take home - enough shrimp that they have me make poboys the next day. My wife usually has grilled catch of the day, she loves the starter Greek salad. Big bonus for me is $1.50 drafts - excellent value and just right to settle the sand from the day on the beach. If you go expecting haute cuisine, smartly dressed and somewhat snobby waitstaff and foo-foo presentation, you will be sadly mistaken. A solid, family friendly gulf classic.
(3)Gillian P.
This place was great and much cheaper than other restaurants in area. The 3 stars put me off at first but we're glad we gave a shot. We did go for lunch so it was cheap and we had an excellent waitress
(5)Chris R.
Ok, this place is showing it's age, but go in knowing that this place needs a renovation (uh teardown?) and it adds to the charm. I think the issue is that if you have a seafood market in your basement, your restaurant is gonna be a little stinky.... HOWEVER, the food is VERY good, especially the grilled fish and of course my favorite, the shrimp basket. Drinks are good and strong and wait staff is colorful and very friendly. I ate here twice on my recent visit and would again. Lunch prices are much more in line with the experience than dinner.
(4)Lotte N.
Your typical seafood place but low-key. Arrive between 4-6pm and take advantage of the appetizer specials for $4. Here's what 3 of us shared for a late lunch: Shrimp & Grits w/plenty of crostini to share (yum!) Fried Mushrooms with horse-radish dip Sauteed Blue Crab claws w/a tomato house dip Fried Crawfish Salad Not bad for the price, well established + seafood market downstairs. Check it out!
(4)Keith C.
It was ok. Oyster poboy was tasty. Oysters were fresh. Place a little disappointing. Staff was friendly but amateur in ability. I might go back. But don't have it on my to do list.
(3)Jeremy M.
Food was ok, but service was EXTREMELY slow, even though we were one of only 3-4 groups in the entire place. I couldn't tell if it was because the server was inefficient, or if she was having to do too much of the prep work for getting food and drinks out. It took us 25 mins to get the first round of drinks and for her to take our order, then over 40 mins more to bring out our meals. Refills were almost out of the question. Most of us ordered sandwiches or fish tacos, so it shouldn't have been because of what we ordered. We also had one order with hair in the food, which we returned. To top it off, without warning or mention on the menu, they added 20% gratuity on a lunch that took us over 90 minutes to order, be served, and eat. Definitely not a recommended spot, though their separate seafood market had good seafood to buy and cook at home. We've eaten at a lot of spots along 30a and won't be returning here.
(1)Alison A.
This place was fantastic. I just visited it for the first time a few weeks ago. We went for lunch, the place was packed. Their lunch specials are amazing - we got the "shrimp" special which was salad, sauteed spiced shrimp (which were delicious), a choice of side and hush puppies for $8.99. The clam chowder was some of the best I ever had - rich and creamy and full of clams. Don't miss the market next door with the freshest seafood around.
(4)Tiff Y.
Goatfeathers had decent food for a decent price (We dined early, so we got the early-bird special prices for dinner). The sirloin was seasoned well but overcooked and the shrimp were very tasty. The crab cakes were huge and stuffed with crabmeat (and shell- so be careful). The staff were friendly. Overall experience was good, but nothing to brag about!
(3)Howard L.
We have been here countless times but I waited to post until we visited again, due to the bad recent reviews. We were there last night and it's the same as before - possibly the best seafood on the panhandle. It's fresh, it is good, it's friendly. The sunset is spectacular. I don't go there for the decor, so who cares? Goatfeathers earns a 10; too bad Yelp only goes to 5!
(5)Daniel K.
On vacation from dallas so we know mediocre seafood; we seldom get fresh tasty seafood and when go to any coast we try to find some. We did just that with goatfeathers. Let me start by saying if you want fancy and stuffy this isn't your place. We,however, were in shorts and didn't want to feel out of place. We succeeded. The decor was a bit dated but I don't care I don't want to pay for ambiance or view when I'm looking for good, reasonably priced food. I did not notice a bad odor from the market or bathroom as another review has said. the food was nothing short of excellent and the service was equally good. Obviously busy our server was cordial and attentive. One of their specials that night was a 5 oz lobster tail combo. We were greeted by the server who promptly told us they had sold out of the 5 oz lobster tail. They had a different combo on the menu with a 9 oz lobster tail so we asked how much to get the larger lobster with the combo we wanted. He quickly went to the kitchen to ask and came back with a very reasonable up charge so we ordered it. Everything we had was great. Probably the best lobster I have ever had, fantastic crab cake, shrimp stuffed with scallops and wrapped in bacon was also great, the grilled shrimp were nothing fancy because they didn't need to be the freshness and simplicity of the preparation was perfect. The salads were fresh and tasty, hush puppies were hot and full of flavor, even the dipping butter was abnormally rich. One in our party got the clam chowder as a starter and said it could only be rivaled by local eateries in Boston. After a very satisfying meal we decided to split the new Orleans style bread pudding 4 ways. That was a mistake. It quickly became a challenge to see who could claim the most first; some fighting with 2 spoons :). All in all fantastic food, not cheap but worth the price, fresh and full of flavor coupled with great service. Few places can earn a 5 star by me but anything else wouldn't be fair to how happy I was with our experience at goatfeathers.
